The rise of Little Dragon

Swedish electronica group Little Dragon released their eponymous debut album in 2007, following it up with Machine Dreams in 2009. They struck lucky with a feature on Gorillaz’ Plastic Beach in 2010 and SBTRKT’s massive hit ‘Wildfire’ in 2011, quietly making a name for themselves. While maintaining a consistent tour schedule of gigs and festivals, the group released their third album Ritual Union in 2011 and Nabuma Rubberband in May of this year.

They started off fairly quirky, with tracks like ‘Place to Belong’ on their debut album, and developed their sound more fully with ‘Feather’ from Machine Dreams, which is a perfect example of their mellow electronica. But they spread their wings with their fourth album, with songs like 'Klapp Klapp' which features a deeper bassline and full on freak-out music video.

Little Dragon have now been remixed by the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Schlomo, Floating Points, Tensnake, SBTRKT and one intrepid Youtuber who mashed them up with Mos Def.
