Revisiting their past: Aquasky | Shadow Era

Drum and Bass | Tuesday 13th October 2015 | Arren

Aquasky have re-mastered and released many of their classic jungle drum & bass tracks in the form of not one, but two incredible EPs.

The Shadow Era series is a celebration of the trio’s early work on their seminal label, Moving Shadow. Signing up in 1995 this year marks two decades in the game and what better way to celebrate than re-mastering your classic rave weapons? Featured is some of their best works alongside big remixes for guys like Omni Trio and Sneaker Pimps with an injection of exclusive dubplates, lovely!

The Bournemouth boys Brent Newitt, Dave Wallace and Kieron Bailey rapidly gathered attention for their profound, often cosmic, productions picking up support from many of drum & bass’ finest. Their attention to detail is second to none; each and every track has its own story. After just three years they were snapped up by major label Polydor, where they released their debut album Orange Dust.

Full of creative ideas and always striving for fresh and innovate material, Aquasky slowly moved away from the realms of drum & bass and began making a name for themselves in other areas within bass music, most notably the breaks scene. With all of their huge achievements they always remember that it was drum & bass where they first hit it big. The Shadow Era album series revisits their past and invites us to do the same.
