The BBC radio host and Red Dwarf star hits Thekla on Friday, 30th September for a retro sonic showdown! Get ready to enter a boogie wonderland full of modern and classic takes on the bounciest Funk & Soul out there.

DJ Ryu AKA Rockit Science is no stranger to the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club nor is he a stranger to Thekla. He has faithfully fulfilled support duties to Mr Charles on more than one occasion and has sustained a residency in Thekla throughout 2016. Rockit successfully brings the house down on every occasion with his creative concoctions of Funk, Disco, House and Hip Hop.

Straight from Shoreditch Radio, Disco Freaks are a snappy duo with enough sass candy on hand to fill a large sweet shop. Prepare for non-chalant finger pointing, two-step grooves, floor-shaking Funk and brazenly brilliant Disco!

Mighty Atom is one of those rare breed of DJ's who can blow crowds away with technical skill, and at the same time destroy a dance floor with an innate understanding of what a good party needs. This is a DJ who has the technical pedigree of 4 x DMC Champion (as part of The Disablists crew) combined with enough party rocking know how to warm up for Rudimental on the main stage at Bestival.

Live support comes from the LBJB's, a band quickly becoming one of Bristol's most energetic hybrids. Mixing Hip Hop with Funk influences, these guys began to garner attention from their weekly residencies at The Left Bank – where they took their name from (Left Bank Jam Band). Combining brass with guitars, organs and drums, The LBJB's will bring this night to the boil nice n' easy!
