Book Slam returns to The Tabernacle for a fantastic night of entertainment. Guests include musician and writer Ben Watt, singer-songwriter Anoushka Lucas and poet Will Burns.


Book Slam returns once again to The Tabernacle, with a stellar line-up of musicians and literati for a fantastic night of entertainment.

Guests include one of our founders, his Lordship Ben Watt of Notting Hill (prince of pitch perfect pop, doyen of the DJ, maestro of the memoir and the dude from Everything But The Girl) to read from his brilliant new book, ‘Romany And Tom’.

Joining Ben Watt are London’s most gifted young artists in the form of the exquisite musical talent that is Anoushka Lucas and Will Burns, recently announced as one of the Faber New Poets for 2014.

Doors open at 6:30 for a 7:30 start. There will also be good food available and signed books for purchase.

About the Performers:
One half of Everything But The Girl, English musician and writer, Ben Watt, has set up independent record labels Buzzin’ Fly and Strange Feeling Records, is the co-founder of West London nightclubs Neighbourhood and Cherry Jam, published his autobiographical memoir in 1996 and recently set up imprint and production company, Unmade Road.

Anoushka Lucas
Hailing from Hammersmith, jazz, pop singer-songwriter Anoushka Lucas has released a self-titled EP featuring 5 original tracks and a second EP in 2011 and has seen her career soar after winning a slot at the Love Supreme Festival 2013

Poet-In-Residence at Caught By The River and Festival No.6, Will Burns’ poetry has graced the likes of Structo Magazine, South Bank Poetry, Illustrated Ape and the Independent Online and been read live at Glastonbury, Port Eliot, End of the Road and many more.
