The Pickle Factory with Bambounou & Shlømo

Paris heads to The Pickle Factory on 29th July, featuring 50weapons mainstay Bambounou, and a live UK debut for hotly-tipped Concrete resident Shlømo.

French electronic auteur Bambounou has joined us in Bethnal Green once before. Back in December, he formed part of an all-star 50WEAPONS showcase, paying tribute to the now sadly defunct label. Few producers embodied the style of Modeselektor's label quite like Bambounou: his tough, funky hybrids of techno and UK bass are perfectly suited 50WEAPONS genre-defying aesthetic, and through them the Parisian released seven EPs and two full-length albums. As a DJ, Bambounou is energetic, propulsive and unpredictable, imbued with a precise technique and deep collection of 4/4 bombs old and new.

He's joined by a live performance from Shlømo, the latest talent from the Concrete production line. Much has been made of the new wave of French techno producers emerging over the past few years, most of which centres around Concrete, Brice Banner's club-on-a-boat that has revitalised the Parisian scene. Shlømo is Concrete's latest resident, a truly special live act who specialises in a brand of tough, celestial electronics as indebted to Underground Resistance and Basic Channel as Scan X and Laurent Garnier.
