Ovation: Saschienne Live, Sascha Funke

Individually, Sascha Funke and Julienne Dessagne have been contributing to their home city’s music scene for some time. Funke's brand of clicky, emotional tech house has become synonymous with German mega-labels Kompakt and BPitch Control, both of which have been releasing his music for over 15 years. As a producer and vocalist, Dessagne has also enjoyed a close relationship with the Kompakt family, as well as releasing on Optimo Music last year under her alias The Twins.

Funke and Dessagne formed Saschienne in 2012, releasing their debut LP on Kompakt months later. Comprised of rich soundscapes, Dessagne’s seductive vocals, and Funke’s surgically-focused rhythms, their 'Unknown' LP proved to be a perfect marriage of Kompakt minimalism with a silky pop sensibility. Funke and Dessagne's live set up comprises hardware, vocals, and plenty of musical experimentation.
