SHEL

Named using their first initials – Sarah (violin, guitar, bass), Hannah (piano, keyboard, concertina, accordion), Eva (mandolin, guitar) and Liza (drums, djembe, beatbox) – SHEL are a Nashville based all-sister quartet who will release their debut UK single at the end of July. Produced by Eurythmics co-founder and latter-day writer and producer to the stars Dave Stewart, ‘You Could Be My Baby’ is the first release in a new label partnership deal between his company Dave Stewart Entertainment and Membran.

Raised on an abandoned trailer park that their parents restored and turned into a farm, the Holbrook sisters had an unconventional and imaginative upbringing at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. From an early age they were fascinated equally by The Beatles and the Marx Brothers, while all four shared a common dream to form a synergetic group from their contrasting individual personalities.

Having created a compelling musical alchemy with their captivating harmonies and intriguing rhythms, the band have spent the last two years touring the US in their sprinter van, playing festivals (including SXSW and CMJ), clubs and schools, plus numerous performances with orchestras that have created arrangements around their music. Their songs have also featured in several films, TV shows and commercials.

The sisters also explore other mediums and have become known for their whimsical handmade top hats, creative merch items and eye-catching, inventive videos. These have been shot in a multitude of locations and have premiered on USA Today, MTV Buzzworthy, CMT, Huffington Post and more.
