Rose is a Rose is a Rose is a Rose - Homage to Gertrude Stein, from 4th-9th July. Violinist, composer & producer Alison Blunt, tours England with a performance involving music, words and live cooking.

Rose is a Rose .... draws on the famous recipes and writings of Alice B. Toklas (namely The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook), literary material of writer Gertrude Stein and Solo for Voice suite by highly acclaimed Austrian composer Elisabeth Harnik, devised and performed by the ensemble. Sounds produced by the live cooking are an integral part of the music.

Alison Blunt (UK), Elisabeth Harnik (AT), Gina Mattiello (AT/IT) and Heidi Richter (AT) first created and performed Rose is a Rose ... a live cooking, music and text piece to celebrate International Women's Day 2012 in the historic space of Kulturpension Prenning in Styria. It was enthusiastically received by an audience largely new to contemporary art music and the four felt mutually inspired by the experience of creating and performing together. A second performance took place at Echoraum, Vienna in April 16. The ensemble is delighted to share Rose... with English audiences in July. They are excited to announce that Sound and Music, (National Charity for New Music) is supporting the tour through their funding programme.
