ROBERT LOGAN ALBUM LAUNCH

ROBERT LOGAN

Logan is a young producer/electronic artist who already has two acclaimed albums and a clutch of EP’s under his belt as well as numerous collaborations with the likes of Grace Jones, Skye, Steve Roach and Brian Eno - not to mention his work for film and TV including Oscar and Emmy nominated documentaries.

'Flesh’ is Logan’s third full-length album, due for release on September 21st, and sees him further develop his idiosyncratic sound whilst continuing to open up new possibilities within the field of electronic music. As ever, Logan’s methodology is rooted in an obsessive desire to push the technology at his disposal to the limit – all his sounds are created from scratch or are created by deconstructing found sounds and acoustic instruments through extreme digital processes.

Most of the album is composed using quarter tones and features contributions from Andy Knight on pocket trumpet and Frank Byng on drums. This contrast between ‘live’ instrumentation and his own digital methods taps into some of the themes that Logan is exploring in the music and that give the album its title – ideas about flesh and spirit, technology and nature, mind and matter.

Robert’s live set up features drummer Frank Byng [Snorkel, Prescott] and keys player Ben Cowen [7- Hurtz, Snorkel].

QUOTES

"...something of a prodigy... ...Robert Logan is a man that is already showing a maturity and a musical/textural understanding that many never find" [BBC]

“…absolutely outstanding…impossible to quantify” - [Mary Anne Hobbs/Radio 1]

“The Essential last word in electronic soundscapes” – [DJ magazine]

"taking on the stylistic might titans such as Massive Attack and Autechre... ...there seems to be little out of reach for such prodigious, sure-footed talent" [Flavorpill]

"Robert Logan's music is assured, airbrushed, solidly built and cockily inclusive, gathering Old Skool rhythmic science, technoid shivers and Gothic interludes into its inky, brooding embrace... ...periodically reminiscent of 'intelligent drum'n'bass' landmarks like Photek's 'Modus Operandi” [The Wire]

"Yeah, this guy is real good" [The Bug]

CREWDSON

Crewdson is an electronic producer whose debut album Gravity led to him being hailed as one to watch amongst his ‘post dubstep’ peers, “…blowing jazz and glitch into the vessels sails”. Comparisons have been made to luminaries such as Four-Tet, Burial and Polar Bear. Crewdson’s live shows are both playful and engaging, utilising home-made instruments and controllers as well as live vocal and saxophone sampling.

Aside from his solo career he performs in a duo as Crewdson & Cevanne and forms a duo with Nigel Godrich collaborator Femme in Eckoclick. He is also long time technical assistant to Matthew Herbert and often plays in his various live projects.

Crewdson has a new album coming out early 2016.

“A sensual marriage of skippy 2-step rhythms, throbbing bass and delicate arrangements. Crewdson is moving bass music beyond its post-dubstep moniker." [Clash]

"Crewdson is a fresh UK producer soon to be inducted into the Hall of Precious Electronic Sounds” [XLR8R]

"hugely danceable and yet intrinsically exploratory." [Crack In The Road]
