Jessie Ware Remix EP

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 15th November 2012 |

Article by Lauren Bernard

Soulful songstress Jessie Ware has swiftly become a respectable name within the UK music scene after releasing her debut album Devotion in August and strolling straight into a Mercury Prize Album of the Year nomination.

Despite her melodic, retro sound crafted in collaboration with album producer Dave Okumu the singer/songwriter has always had a certain affinity to electronic music.

In fact her first real recognition was owed to her feature on dubstep/future garage act SBTRKT’s single ‘Right Thing To Do’.

Now Jessie’s flame is being fuelled by the eagerness of some of the UK’s most masterful producers to adopt her tracks for remixes.

This abundant array of bassy beats with Jessie’s crisp vocals on top look set to make sure her flame is kept burning deep into the night across the UK’s vibrant club scene.

The latest offering is this Remix EP consisting of three remixes of her album track ‘No To Love’.

The EP remixes come courtesy of house heavyweights George Fitzgerald, Ewan Pearson and Todd Edwards.

George Fitzgerald’s take is a typically bouncy, upbeat house number whilst Ewan Pearson opts for a more downbeat retro sound which shamelessly recalls the 80s.

But Todd Edwards steals the show with the most original offering - rooted in the sounds of funky house yet still clinging on to the sweet soulfulness of Ware’s vocals.

The three track EP might just do well as a lively party starter for Jessie Ware’s ever growing fan base as well as garnering some much deserved exposure for the featured producers who are championing the UK electronic scene right now.

Listen to the remix EP below, the release is also available from iTunes.
