Sizzla Banned From Sweden

Reggae | Tuesday 20th March 2012 | Osh

Booked to perform at Hornstull Strand in Sweden’s capital on the 28th of this month, Sizzla was subsequently banned from performing in the country due to his lyrics. This news comes after news reported earlier last week that the famous Agency Group was cutting some its reggae acts because of issues of banning and outcry against lyrics.

Using the Reggae Compassion Act as their excuse, event organisers heard the cries of their people and cancelled the show. Sizzla, among many other Rasta artists sings against homosexuality and for this reason, Sizzla has been banned from both Canada and this country. Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community have labelled many Rasta artists lyrics as “advocating violence” towards the LGBT people.
