Meet Sampha

RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 26th March 2014 | Oxford

As Canadian rapper Drake completed the UK leg of his tour, we were surprised not to see UK artist, Sampha take to the stage.

The South London raised artist featured on Drake’s album "Nothing was the same" co-wrote the sensational song "Too much".

The songwriter and producer Sampha is currently signed to independent record label, Young Turks and has worked with the Jessie Ware, Solange & Katy B, writing a song for her latest album, "Little Red".

Whilst on the road with Sbtrkt, Sampha met Drake which led to their collaborations. He has released a full acoustic version of “Too Much”. On “Happens” Sampha reminds me of Tracey Chapman's hit “Fast car”. The melody, his voice, all take me straight to that song. He came 4th on the BBC “Sound of 2014” list and has more than 26k twitter followers!

His sound is distinctive and we look forward to hearing more of the UK talent that is, Sampha!
