Shut That Shit Down is the random, wasted, Tuesday 5 a.m. idea of Mitee and Default Disruptor, two of London's least bothered DJs.
Having spent an entire winter with only four new tracks to show for it, and with debts mounting in all directions, the boys thought it might be time to stop slacking, dust down the old money printing machine and tax YOU, the punter, to fund their ongoing reckless debauchery. But this isn't a one-way street, people. Because in return for your hard earned cash, you can be sure of remembering absolutely NOTHING by Saturday morning.
We pride ourselves on corporate honesty here at Shut That Shit Down, which is why we feel obliged to remind you that you've never even heard of Mitee & Default Disruptor. In spite of this, however, and their remarkably low production output rate, they've still managed to clock up almost 200,000 podcast streams from total strangers all over the world in just 6 months. Which they probably wouldn't have done if they weren't amazingly good at DJing. Nor would they have previous gig credits between them including Berlin, Barcelona, New York, San Francisco and half the grimy stinking basement bars in London if they weren't made of the right stuff.
Not only that, but on the occasions when they do finally stop chatting shit and get on with some work, they're pretty natty in the studio as well. Recently rescued by a group of friends who saw the opportunity to earn hard cash if only we could get the lazy pricks to sharpen up a bit, Mitee & "D-Dub" (as he's known to people who haven't got time to say his ridiculous name properly) are near to getting a record label together. Not to mention an Art Of Grime exhibition and music festival at Cable in 2013.
Still, however, they persist with the notion that it's enough to have talent, and that no effort should actually be required. And who can blame them, products as they are of an age where no-one gives a shit. At the end of the day, it IS far easier to play Phaelah tracks in your damp-infested flat in East London, and IMAGINE the ocean of people dancing in front of you. But on the other hand, the cupboard is empty, and those £20 Argos speakers aren't the best for studio monitoring, so GIVE US YOUR F***ING MONEY.
Also on the bill we have the marvellous DJ AC, one half of DJ/production duo and Passion FM residents D'Vinci. Already this year, D'Vinci have headlined at Pacha, and will be showcasing their deep bassline tech sounds at the Glade and Secret Garden Party festivals this summer, as well as working on tracks and remixes for their ever-expanding TooB record label. Tonight though, AC will be treating us to a rare set of deep dubstep and future bass, after we caught him loving it down at Camden Music Studio.
So relax, it's ok, we're good people when you get to know us. In fact, we're so good that we'll let you in on the guest list for £3 if you cough up now. Your £3 buys a Kinder toy for these poor hopeless children, whilst in fact being spent almost entirely on admin costs.
