Steve Cradock Band Acoustic Show (Ocean Colour Scene/Weller) Plus Simon Townshend Solo Acoustic set (The Who)

Steve Cradock is becoming something of a regular at Jamm. After performing a solo acoustic set in October and then an exclusive DJ set in December for the Ocean Colour Scene official afterparty, he returns, this time with his band and will show why he is seen as one of the most talented British
guitarists ever to have picked up an "axe" and also highlight his incredible song writing prowess. He is also supported by another great artist in Simon Townshend who will play an acoustic set prior to his forthcoming tour.

Raised on a teenage diet of The Who, the Small Faces and lashings of The Jam, Steve's first band The Boys were a ferocious power-pop outfit when the Mod scene was so underground you could smell the moss on their parkas. Inspired by the The Stone Roses, his next band, Ocean Colour Scene (formed with ex-Fanatics singer Simon Fowler) reflected the new technicolor gestalt. Within a year – with Steve still just twenty- OCS were at the vanguard of a second wave of bands, only for label wrangles to delay the release of their debut album.

Recruited by Paul Weller for his band in 1993 (Weller recalling Cradock from his days in The Boys), the guitarist's infectious enthusiasm soon kick-started OCS back into life, with second album Moseley Shoals spawning four Top Twenty hits including karaoke perennial 'The Riverboat Song'.
Follow up Marchin' Already, meanwhile, knocked Oasis' Be Here Now off the number one spot, the band's place at Britpop's top table confirmed with an appearance at Oasis' Knebworth mega-gig.

Alternating between OCS and Wellers band ever since, Steve only got round to making his solo debut, the splendid Kundalini Target, two years ago.

Peace City West, his latest album, was released in April 2011. Recorded over a fortnight in Devon with a revolving cast of musicians including drummer Tony Coote, multi-instrumentalist Fred Ansell and actor James Buckley on guitar and vocals, it's as richly melodic as you'd expect from someone with such an established musical pedigree.

Support comes from current band member of The Who, Simon Townshend. An artist from quality stock (he is baby brother of Who legend Pete Townsend), Having released a number of successful solo albums between '97 and '02 and a further album with band The Casbah Club in '05, Simon returns with his unique and distinctive rock sound in 2012 with what may be his best and most impactful solo recording to date, the forthcoming release, Looking Out Looking In. With a UK tour with his band showcasing this new album taking place from March, this will be an exclusive opportunity to see and hear Simon Townshend play this new material prior to release and acoustic.
