Face Off 2012
Face Off, the biggest inter-university music and dance competition, annually brings together a cast of over 300 students from all over England in a head-to-head battle of music and dance.
Face Off, hosted by Supernova Entertainments, provides students with a platform from which to showcase the best of British South Asian youth talent and is judged by a glamorous panel of expert judges. The shows motto, “For Pride...For Honour...For Respect...”, encapsulates the passion of the performers and organisers alike.
The competition first took to stage at the Clapham Grand in 2006, bringing together students from just five London-based universities submitting one music act and one dance act each. Over the years, it has expanded to include students from across the country whilst incorporating an audition stage to cope with the level of interest from universities. This year, thousands across the UK have voted to take 8 universities through to the finals. Supernova Entertainments have now announced that the universities taking part in Face Off 2012 are; St George’s, City, King’s College London, Leicester, Manchester, Nottingham, Queen Mary and London South Bank.
“Through Face Off we all become closer, like a family, and that's the strength we take with us to our rehearsals, socials and, of course, to the final” said performer and choreographer, Sakira Thangavel, from Kings College London. "I think when newcomers see this; they can't help but want to take part."
