This Is Trouw Club - London Showcase - Patrice Baumel, Melon & San Proper at The Rhythm Factory | House
25 February 2012 22:00 - 26 February 2012, 06:00
This is Trouw Club, Amsterdam, NL
Located in a former Dutch newspaper building, this revamped industrial space is one of the most important reference points on the electronic music map right now. A look at the diverse programming, past guests and the fact RA chose to host a leg of its recent RA X event series there should tell you all you need to know about this special club, as important to Amsterdam as Berghain & Fabric are to Berlin and London respectively.
Little hype needed for this, the party is capped at a deliberately intimate 350 to allow those in the know to get close and personal with the key Trouw residents, Patrice Baumel, Melon & San Proper. Its the first experience of a Trouw party like this in London, with such amazing talent together in such an intimate space.
We hope you can join us. This is Trouw
Patrice Bäumel is a German electronic musician who has been living in Amsterdam for the last 14 years. Before fully committing his life to making music, he had a carreer in teaching, computer programming and design. Behind the decks or in the studio, Patrice tries to combine and mix contrasting elements, play with surprising dynamics. Man vs machine, warm vs cold. It is the reoccurring theme in his tracks, podcasts and dj sets.
Patrice has gained a rock solid reputation worldwide through his productions for labels like Get Physical, Trapez or Studio !K7. Remix work includes mixes for Booka Shade or Bomb The Bass. Together with Nuno Dos Santos he forms “360”, a cutting edge dj and production duo. Their monthly residency at Trouw is a wild display of new school electronic dance music. As a co-owner of the new Trouw label and booking agency, Patrice is involved in many aspects of today's music business.
Melon is a natural artist, a DJ’s DJ who has managed to gain residencies and regular bookings at some of the world’s finest clubs purely by being great at spinning records, such as Fabric, Robert Johnson or Panorama Bar. His awesome record collection, spanning three decades of dance music, is the base for a unique sound that is always a few steps ahead of the game. Timeless house in all its glory and variety which can be witnessed at his monthly “Ratio?” residency at Trouw.
San Proper is a well-respected artist from the Amsterdam underground club scene. Over the last fifteen years, he has been spinning and playing live from major clubs and festivals to smaller bars and dodgy underground locations. He’s known and praised for his House & Disco sets, but also skilled in blending different styles from Acid to Afro-beat into an eclectic mix. Since 2009 he has been performing & presenting a solo live show chanting vocals and playing several live instruments alongside his hard- ware and digital gear.
