MOVIMIENTOS SOUNDSYSTEM Fresh from blazing a trail at the summer festivals including spots at The Big Chill and Secret Garden Party DJs Cal Jader and Clem George bring you the funkiest sounds of the Latino underground from Cumbia and Salsa to Hip Hop, electronic and folkloric dance music with a global London twist, adding Afro, Reggae and global flavours into their heady mix of Musica Mestiza. Their set includes loops and effects combined with Clem's mic rocking talents and some percussive accompaniment.
MOVIMIENTOS is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of Latin culture in the UK and beyond. Through events it aims to support the emerging and established artists at the heart of the Latin music scene as well as providing a platform for political/social documentaries on Latin America and the organisations that promote awareness or campaign on issues relating to the continent. Movimientos runs two regular events in London - a documentary film and DJ / music night at the Salmon and Compass, and a live Latin music & cultural night at the Notting Hill Arts Club and are always on the lookout for new films, film makers, music, musicians, performance artists, poets, photographers, DJs, activists or other like minded individuals or groups to co-operate or particpate in our events.
