La Bomba’s buzzing summer season hits festival feverpitch Saturday August 28th when its hosts its own Carnival Warm-Up Party at Pacha.
With Europe’s Biggest Outside Carnival event set to erupt at midday on Sunday August 29th, the La Bomba warm-up fiesta unites the capital with its explosive sights n’ sounds, topped off with International headline DJ Mesta (Italy) and also premiering the new new J Lo street dance movie “Feel The Noise” released on DVD in the UK August 30th.
“HipHop is my wife. RnB is my lover. Dancehall is my affair.
House, Reggaeton & Naija music are the new chicks I lost my head to...and when I"spin" them together, that's when I hit you with the magic"
Mixing records and producing beats for over 10 years, DJ Mesta has developed a unique sound based on simple techniques, good taste and innovative skills. Originally a Hip Hop DJ who broke Reggaeton in Europe, Dj Mesta’s new style fuses together electro, HipHop, Reggaeton, Afro-beat and the new Afro R n’ B.
His Full Blast radio mixshow broadcasts to over 3 million listeners daily on RTL TV 102.5 and is syndicated worldwide and podcasted on iTunes. Last summer DJ Mesta co-hosted “Bravi Ragazzi” (=Goodfellas), a TV show on Italy’s national channel, RAI 2 featuring HipHop/Reggaeton videos and street culture from all over the globe. And as the A&R for Selecta/Motivo, Mesta was also nominated for “Best International Mixtape DJ” at the 2009 Mixtape Awards (NYC).
He is also currently working on his forthcoming album, an urban crossover set packed with a refined mix of Crunk, RnB, Afro-Beat and Tropical rhythms and featuring artists such as Bimbo, Gemstar, Lokixximo, Fatman Scoop, Alkatraz (Ruff Ryders), Pryme Status and Cubanito.
Inspired by the Jamaican tradition of many artists recording onto one “riddim”, Mesta has released the first track from his “Naija Riddim” EP , “Out Of Control” featuring Eno. Inspired by a recent tour of Nigeria, established Nigerian artists such as Daddy Showkey, Darey and Naeto C are showcased on the other tracks. First with “Noche Europea”, then "Out of Control" and now with the new single "O Make E" with Obvious, Mesta is constantly breaking new styles: DJs spin records, real DJs break them. DJ Mesta breaks trends.
The hottest new street dance movie “Feel The Noise” is out on DVD on August 30th, and launches tonight at La Bomba. A dynamic story of the unifying power of music, the action flares when a run-in with local thugs gets too dangerous for rapper Rob (Omarion Grandberry, You Got Served), and he flees to Puerto Rico to live with a father he has never known. While living there his half-brother Javi (Victor Rasuk, Raising Victor Vargas) introduces him to the seductive rhythms of Reggaeton, a spicy blend of streetdance, reggae and Latin beats. Together with a dancer named C.C. (Zulay Henao, Illegal Tender), they follow their dream of becoming stars to New York but can they survive the grudges, greed and egos that await them in the big apple?
You’ve stepped up and stomped the yard, now get ready to get down and feel the power of the hottest hip-hop movie to date, “Feel The Noise” at its UK DVD Launch.
