MAMA AFRICA is calling you....
KMT & Boulevard La Palma Present MAMA AFRICA the new nocturnal African Experience to take London by storm. With humanity’s origins at the heart of its name, MAMA AFRICA aims to unite her rhythm-driven children from all corners of the globe, on one dance floor, to delight and enrapture her audience.
Taking Africa as the foundation for world music, MAMA AFRICA aims to trace the influence of African music from its cradle through its diaspora to the Americas and the Caribbean. MAMA is the capital’s only all-embracing, inclusive conduit for the marriage between African and Latin music.
MAMA AFRICA launched to great acclaim at Arch 635 (Clapham North) in August 2013, and then every 3rd Friday thereafter.
The MAMA AFRICA format is not only unique in its musical focus but also in its programming. Part DJ based, part dance workshop and part live performance, MAMA showcases the hottest Afrobeat, Coupe Decale, HiLife and Tropical Bass DJs on London’s global music circuit as well as live performances from some of the most exciting new African and Latin bands in town. MAMA also intends to promote and support any affiliated artistic initiatives that straddle the creative areas, including fashion, dance and food.
After hosting successful events at Hootananny Brixton (Voted South London’s most popular live music venue 2011), Favela Chic (Old St) Passing Clouds (East London).
