'Disobedient Objects' at the V&A Museum

Other | Friday 28th November 2014 |

In a time when Russell Brand is calling for Revolution and the Occupy Democracy movement plans to reoccupy Parliament Square in December, political activism has definitely re-entered the public consciousness. Fittingly, the Victoria & Albert Museum is holding a unique exhibition displaying objects used in political activism and protests from around the world.

The ‘Disobedient Objects’ exhibition will be open until 1st February 2015 and will showcase actual items created for the purpose of political activism from the 1970s to the present day. The items in the exhibition range from hand made gas masks (pictured above) to elaborate protest vehicles and costumes, with the aim of demonstrating the design ingenuity that accompanies political activism. So for all those looking for something to do in London over the next few months, take a trip down to the Victoria & Albert Museum for the day and check out this amazing collection. And what’s more, it’s completely free!
