Polka Party: Korean Cinema  EP                                                                        

 

Just after listening to Polka Party’s “Cinema Korean” EP I realize why they are smashing all over the UK with their post-punk riffs and pounding vibes. The insistent, stoned and cynical voice drags, almost riding  in advance, hysterical and bloody sounds. “oh my God , I can’t handle anyone else , if you can’t take me home, I will destroy myself” in (“Korean cinema”) seems to come out from a shaky ,cold and breathless sun.

Lyrics and music fight each other in a unique incandescent box where frustrated melancholy and energy, get rid of the time outside that.

“We don’t talk about it” seems to through the crazy sound box out in a bitter sea of “…salty water” where resigned flows, wet magically the past and all I have listened to so far. I’m going to see them definitely next 9th June at the London Camden Head!
