No One Killed Kendrick's Vibe At The BET Awards

Tuesday 9th July 2013 | Aaron

Hip hop’s wonderkid, Kendrick Lamar truly excelled at this year’s BET 2013 awards. Kendrick didn’t just take home the big award of Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, but also claimed awards for Best Newcomer and Best Collaboration for his part is A$AP Rocky’s ‘Problems’.

Born and raised in Compton - California, Kendrick Lamar has shot to fame at lightning pace and the last 18 months have been monumental for the rapper. With release of his debut album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, touring with Drake and releasing records with 50 cent, A$AP Rocky and The Game, Kendrick seems to have asserted himself right on top of the wealth of Hip Hop talent in the industry at the moment.

With his unique and distinctive style, Kendrick is the man that is hot in the game right now!  A performance of his own single ‘Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe’ coupled a performance with Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Miguel, the BET awards were an overwhelming success for the Swimming Pools rapper.  Three awards and a further three nominations typified the past year for the rapper and indicated great things to come for the platinum album star. A great touch during his acceptance speeches was the strong affiliation he still shared for his home town of Compton despite rapid stardom and the humbleness in which he accepted his awards. Now he has the tough task of emulating his success at the 2014 BET awards, we’ll see what the next 12 months have in store for young K. Dot.
