Quadrophenia Tour Begins in Glasgow

Wednesday 3rd April 2013 | Alex

The Who have announced plans for June, 2013 to play their cult rock opera ‘Quadrophenia’ at a series of shows in an arena tour of the UK.

Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey - the two remaining members of this iconic 70s band - have scheduled eight dates this summer beginning in Glasgow on June, 12. Townsend said he can no longer do all the "running around and leaps and bounds" of his younger days but will still be able to perform the classic double album ‘Quadrophenia’ in full, as well as a selection of other classics, during their tour that finishes in Liverpool on June, 30.

Show director Roger Daltrey wants accompanying imagery projected on an array of massive screens; these features worked well in the recent tour of America by supporting, complementing and propelling the content of the bands work, thus nicely setting the music in the context of their history.

Joining Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey for the UK dates will be Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), John Corey (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards/backing vocals).
