Zane Lowe gave the Scottish three piece the debut play of their new track, ‘Stinging Belle’ last night on Radio 1.
The release of the track coincides with the band's announcement that they are releasing a new double album Opposites. With their sixth studio album and proposed double album, the band will look to continue where they left off with the success of their previous 2009 album Only Revolutions, which reached three in the UK album charts and contained three hit singles all charting in the top 10.
Biffy Clyro are fast approaching 20 years in the music industry and the band in front of us now is vastly different from the one that emerged in 1995, heavily routed in grunge music the movement to a more mainstream sound has bought them untold success.
The new single offers the classic Biffy sound we have come to expect, a mix of distortion and clean guitar, a catchy bass riff, Ben beating the drums like they owe him money and a vocal melody that showcases the unique vocal talent of Simon. If this track is anything to judge by the new album will bring continued success for Biffy.
