Look out for these forthcoming releases in 2012. From dancehall straight back to those classic reggae artists, there’s bound to be something here to wet your appetite!
Sizzla: The Chant - February 17th
Sizzla’s new album looks set to dominate dance floors everywhere. We’re expecting nothing less than hard truths and big tunes from this one.
Lee Scratch Perry: High Plains Drifter: Jamaican 45s 1968- 73 - February 28th
Expect golden oldies on this LP. The Upsetters feature quite a bit as well as Count Sticky, The Silvertones and many more. Let’s hope this is yet another great instalment from Mr Perry.
Various Artists: Future Cuts - February 6th
Featuring some great artists like Maxi Priest, Busy Signal, Etana, Sizzla, Macka B and Tippa Irie, this mix should be a solid one to add to your collection!
Fred Locks: Music Is My Calling - February
I’ve Got A Joy and Black Star Liner are just two classic tracks from this artist of your parents’ era. He’s back in 2012 with a whole new album. Spread the word!
Various Artists: Real Reggae Riddims - February
Bounty Killer, Capleton, Gappy Ranks, Teflon and Lukie D. Find somewhere that’s selling this album and buy it. With these artists included and many more, this one will be big!
Jah Cure: World Cry - Date unknown
The only thing we know so far is that Mavado will be featured on this album. But we love Jah Cure, so just knowing that an album is on its way is good enough for us!
Mr Vegas: Sweet Jamaica - February 21st
Two CD’s, one reggae, the other dancehall. Mr Vegas has a nice mix here with tracks featuring artists like Luciano, Shaggy, Nadine Sutherland, Wynter Gordan and Gyptian. Roll on the 21st!
Busy Signal: Title Unknown - 2012
He’s been absent from the dancehall scene as of late, but now he’s set to release an eagerly awaited 100% reggae album for all the diehard fans out there. We can’t wait to hear it.
Konshens: Mental Maintenance - February 28th
With tracks featuring Sizzla and Tarrus Riley, this album has an all-star line up. Definitely one to look out for!
