The House Of X-Press 2 – Every Thursday 7-9PM
It’s been quite a year so far for X-Press 2 not only are the legendary dance floor vanguards at the pinnacle of the international DJ fraternity, they remain all round purveyor’s of the UK’s finest House music, and with that to start the new year off nicely the eclectic duo are set to release their eagerly anticipated third studio album offering ‘ The House Of X-Press 2’ on Skint on 23rd January 2012.
Never ones to shy away from their pioneering spirit, the boys have produced eleven standout collaborative tracks that place them yet again at the top of their game. It’s a definitive body of work that delves deep into the X-Press 2 psych and pulls out a monumental culmination of two year’s worth of work that collides head long as it goes with some of the finest talent around including the likes of James Yuill, Roland Clark, Rob Harvey, Amber Jolene, Timo Garcia, Tim Deluxe and Analog People In A Digital World, yet another new page in the X-Press 2 book of ‘All killer no filler’ as they continue their unconventional quest to showcase new cutting edge sounds.
A multitude of sonic adventures rolls out across the album which kicks off with the monster dance war cry of Doll (of Doll & The Kicks) on ‘This Is War’, to the dark and dirty dancefloor shaker ‘Let Love Decide’ featuring infamous house producer and vocalist Roland Clark, followed onwards by ‘The Blast’ featuring the haunting vocals of Rob Harvey (of The Music), big and brooding  ‘Get On You’, to the rolling cosmic-esc vocals of James Yuill on ‘Time’, to the sultry  ‘Frayed Of The Light’ with Timo Garcia featuring the zesty vocal talents of Amber Jolenne, to house purist’s dream ‘Lost The Feelin’ with Tim Deluxe, all topped off by the epic ‘Million Miles Away’, a heady slice of deep house defying you not to dance.
The pairs long lasting recipe for success is the key to the creativity of ‘The House Of X-Press 2’, mixing the new with the old, rough with the smooth, the boom with the sublime, injecting every track with X-Press 2 dexterity and combining it all in the mix for our listening pleasure creating work that is ultimate seamless effortlessness.
Always fresh off the hook, Rocky and Diesel, continue to emblazon their way exactly as they have done for the past 25 years. ‘The House Of X-Press 2’ brings to the table the meeting of two forward thinking minds set on making music strictly for dance floor hedonism ignited with pure but simple pleasure, creating straight up no frills epic bangers across the board.
The House of X-press 2:
So many nights and days and 25 years of being in and DJing at amazing clubs and parties are what inspires’ X-Press 2 to keep doing what they do. It was the dance floor that told them to be DJs in the first place and the dance floor that inspired the early tracks that they made.
X-Press 2 loved that whole going out and hearing all sorts of music in one night. DJs like Alfredo and Larry Levan were champions of this style of DJing and it was thanks to people like them that the boys were able to do what they have done over the years. The old guard are still an inspiration for their music, both as DJs and producers but they are constantly checking for new names who always come along and give things a slightly different slant on what's gone before.
It’s a combination of the old and the new that truly underpins X-Press 2’s music nowadays. From listening to an old jazz album from the 60s next to a hot new track from someone like Feygin and can totally blow them away. This is what keeps X-Press 2 going into the studio and making the music that they do best. “All that we've ever wanted to do out of our music is to see people dance and get that empathy with the dance floor, knowing how a track makes us feel and seeing it have the same effect on 2000 people dancing as you play it.”
