Laugh To Be Healthy
Laugh To Be Healthy
The University of Maryland conducted a study where people were shown funny movies to measure the affect on their cardiac health. The results show that laughing helps to increase the blood flow and also people’s positivity.
The University College of London discovered that the brain responds to the sound of laugher by preparing the muscles in the face to laugh and smile.
One of the greatest examples of the great effect laughter can have on health involves the writer Norman Cousins, who had spinal disease and instead of diagnosing him with any drugs, he decided to take large dose of vitamin C and create positive behaviour through laughing, love and joy.
After this treatment he was able to go to work again. He wrote, “I made the joyous discovery that ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain- free sleep.”
It is known that laugher is certainly contagious, so if it can be spread through society it would create more health, therefore let’s laugh!
