Following our launch party in November with Medlar from Wolf Music, we carry on with another party at The Questionmark Bar, for another purveyor of finest underground house and techno music with Jordan Peak who's aesthetic of production and DJ style is undoubtedly marked already within the UK club scene, as well as Europe and across the World.
★Jordan Peak ★
Jordan's focus on low slung house music full of swing and swagger, has a knack for creating raw analogue charm and already encompasses a growing spectrum of sounds. Currently in the midst of a speedy ascent through the production ranks, his output already includes an intriguing set of releases, for a UK act, on labels such as Robsoul, Raum...Musik, Saved and Tsuba.
With only 2 years releasing music on his own name, Jordan has over 30 tracks under his belt and who thinks that quantity doesn't mean quality should pay a bit of attention to his tracks as they get plays by the likes of Pete Tong, Luciano, Dennis Ferrer, Steve Bug, DJ Sneak and Phill Weeks just to name a few.
★ Andre Ferraz ★
Co-Founder of Kat 'n Maus and like many other players, Andre began his interest in house and techno promoting parties in Sao Paulo where he's originally.
Having been forced to study Architecture and Law by his parents, Ferraz grew ever more occupied with Sao Paulo’s club scene, sneaking out to get a taste of the nocturnal culture in which he is now fully submerged. A few DJ gigs ensued in small bars around the city, and so too did the Brazilian begin promoting the odd party in now sadly extinct clubs like U-Turn and Club K in Sao Paulo.
Since his move to London at the end of 2005, honing his music production techniques has been Ferraz’s obsession. From audio technology to music history via sound design, piano and sampling, this Brazilian expert has done it all under the careful tutelage of various people around London at places like SAE and Pointblank.
Also now embroiled in yet another music production course, Ferraz has finally crafted some music to be released into the wider world on Frankfurt’s much respected label, Weplayminimal, alongside the revered established likes of Federico Molinari, Daniel Steinberg, Nic Fanciulli and label boss M.in. His Connected EP is two tracks of finely crafted, well-balanced deep tech that joins the dots between Berlin minimal and the more emotive soul of the US’s finest. Warm chords hang round languid grooves as they work their way under your skin and some deft sampling fleshes out the arrangements to make them sound more dynamic and alive than a lot of electronic music out there in 2011.
★Luca DV★
Luca was born in Italy and moved to London at the early age of 19, he has always been a huge fun of electronic music and the vibrant city turned him into a techno DJ. Luca is a new, young, upcoming and talented DJ from the underground scene of East London. He is the co-founder of BRAZUKA and Spacecake alongside with two mates, and has been organizing parties for over two years around clubs and bars in London and the U.K. A resident at Exit Bar, he has also played at bars such as: Kemia, The Dolphin and The Rhythm Factory to name few. Brazuka has always been characterized for its energetic and glamorous atmosphere achieved by the geared up exceptional DJ's.
Luca’s sets are fresh, with a strong structure, defined by a full swing of tribal rhythms & beats. He has a meticulous intuition for the right tracks and to keep the crowd energized all night long! He plays a wide selection of records, from exclusive deep tunes to the smashing heavy techno at the end of a night/morning. Influenced by Marco Carola, Nick Curly, Raresh, Livio & Robi, Gorge.
★Thiago Médici ★
Other half of Kat 'n Maus, Thiago's early career as a DJ goes back to when he was only 15 years, sharing the same taste for Techno 4 to floor with Andre they started to collect vinyls and putting on some private parties for friends. Not long enough to see him playing at club where techno and underground house were taking serious. A Loca, Susi in Transe, Toxtex SP and Audio Delicatessen were the club where he showcased his fast pace DJ mixing skills and held some residencies promoting his own party Estica "Strech" in which he used to share the decks with many of the local DJ from Sao Paulo.
Now based in London where he's mainly spending his time developing his skill in painting, producing, DJing, he's also the artist behind Kat 'n Maus artwork, as well as the audio visual projected at the party.
