Bring on the debate! Bring on the tom foolery!

Other | Wednesday 14th January 2015 | Osh

So, the broadcasters have got together and decided we need to see a live debate from the main political parties,

David Cameroon refused on the basis that the Green Party where not invited. He said
"The Greens have a member of parliament, they beat the Liberal Democrats in the last national election - the European Elections, so I don't see how you can have UKIP and not the Greens. That is my very strong opinion."

Presumably he has refused because he knows the Greens would give Labour a run for their money in a similar way that UKIP could prove an annoyance to the Tory's.

Labour, Lib Dems and UKIP hae written to David Cameroon stating that one party should not be able to veto the decision to have the debate and have said the debate should go on regardless. They are playing a game of poker as so far the broadcasters have not conceded to move forward with the debate without the David Cameron and the Conservatives.

It seems the broadcasters have the final say because this is "their" project.
Sky, BBC. ITN AND Channel 4 have come together to divvy up the TV gold of a live debate, which begs the question... Why didn't they invite the Green Party to begin with?
