Music students ride road to success

Other | Wednesday 5th March 2014 | Annalisa

Students at Access to Music London have been making quite a name for themselves.

Jesse Glynne, who completed the Artist Development course at Access to Music London, found chart success as guest vocalist on Clean Bandit's Rather Be. The track hit the number one slot in January, after shifting 163,000 copies in its first week of sale. In February, Jess released her single Home produced by grime producer Bless Beats.

Ex-students and identical twins, Lauren and Kimberley Goddard, who make up vocal group Gemyni, are now in Team Kylie on BBC's The Voice. The pair impressed with a performance of Fantasy by Mariah Carey, which made three of the judges turn around. Lauren commented, 'We definitely believe as twins we are stronger performers. We understand each other intuitively and know each other’s harmonies so well. We bring fire and passion to all ours songs. The Voice has given us the opportunity to be heard for our voices - it’s an exciting moment for both of us!". We wish them luck in the upcoming battle round.

Two of the biggest names to come out of the music college, which is based near the Olympic village in Stratford, are Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran, who are now international stars. The centre was also home to Vanessa White of The Saturdays.
